Forever Ago walkthrough
Forever Ago runs in nine linear chapters. Each one gives you a short task list from Audrey's journal — explore the area, take photos and move on. Nothing can be failed or missed permanently.
Forever Ago tells its story across nine chapters, and every one works the same way: you arrive at a place from Alfred and Audrey's past, the journal hands you a short list of things to do, and the chapter ends when the list is done and your prints are in the album. Nothing can be failed or timed — the only way to get stuck is to walk past an interaction prompt.
This walkthrough follows the chapters in order, with each stop's tasks and the moments that trip players up.

Chapter 1 — Woolson Falls
You start as young Audrey in June 1974, and the chapter doubles as the photography tutorial: photograph the manual on the desk, the teddy on the bed, and the pictures beside the study desk. Alfred calls up from outside — turn the camera on him before heading down.
On the drive, take a photo and keep talking to Alfred until he points out the Woolson Falls sign. At the end of the walk, the two set up a timer shot at the falls. Back in the present, shake the print until it develops and place it in the journal to close the chapter.
Chapter 2 — Carl's Pump and Mart
The list: food, new windshield wipers and a road atlas. Take a red basket by the entrance and work the store — wipers at the far end, cookies opposite, and the atlas near the toilet paper, where an old photo hangs on the wall. Study it; it comes back later.
Pay Milton at the counter, then play through the short dream that interrupts the checkout. That night at camp you make your first journal entries.
Chapter 3 — Highway Star Diner
Three jobs around the diner and the motel: find Audrey's flower, play their song on the old jukebox, and sit in the booth by the window. The flower grows in the grass near the van — crouch low and look for red petals. The jukebox doesn't run, and Alfred won't accept the staff's offer to play the track over the speakers.
The booth needs permission. The waitress has a dumpster problem out back, and asking around leads to the trash area behind the fence. Deal with the visitor there — a dog, who also steals Alfred's hat — and the booth opens for you. Ordering from memory goes badly, and the chapter ends on that note. If no prompt appears behind the diner, walk the whole fence line first.
Chapter 4 — On the Road Back Home
The van breaks down with an oil leak. Check it from three angles — tail, hood and the inside from the right — and pick up the journal from beside the dog. From there it's a walk north to a phone booth, a scene, and a dream sequence: keep moving forward, interact with the telephone, and continue straight until it ends.
Chapter 5 — The Sam Detour
You wake in a teenager's bedroom, and outside, Sam is already trying to fix the van. Let her finish — trying it yourself gets exactly the reaction you'd expect. While she works, water the garden: fill up at the faucet and split left and right to cover every plant.
With the van running, take the wheel for the first start, then join Sam for a last walk with the dog — throw the stick, and take the selfie lesson seriously: line the group up, use the timer, and remember to smile. That night a shooting star crosses; wish on it. In the morning, cook breakfast and see the chapter out.
Chapter 6 — Captain Marley's Retreat
The biggest chapter opens on a themed retreat that closed around 2001 and was never cleaned out: locked shops, a dead arcade, a sky train with power still running and an island across the water. The list: this year's mascot sticker, a way onto the island, and the fireworks at seven.
Work the main buildings first — the arcade still has a playable cabinet, and the photo booth and storefronts are worth inspecting while you hunt for a way across. With the boats gone, find something that floats and mind the crossing. Doors that won't budge are usually locked from the inside; circle the building for another entrance.
Chapter 7 — Winslow Lighthouse
Rain moves in as you head north. At the foot of the trail, a traveller called Charlie shares breakfast with his old dog Luke — say hello, find Luke a stick, and mind the pace; he can't walk far. The pink mariposa lilies along the path are the flowers Alfred recognises on sight, and the lighthouse itself is locked when you arrive.
Then the storm hits. Hope bolts, and the search is the chapter's hard part: don't chase, follow the barking and keep calling her name. Hold your heading and she'll find you.
Chapter 8 — Williamina Peak
Snow closes in on the climb. Raise your wiper speed early, ride the crash into the last dream, and walk it out until you reach the door. When you wake, Hope is gone into the snow: follow her tracks, keep calling, and stay on the line even when the trail disappears.
After that it's the last ascent — up to the peak, through one more dream, to the door at the top. Let the scene play out; the chapter ends when the memory does.
Chapter 9 — Epilogue
Home, finally. The last list is small and quiet: wander the house, interact with what's there, cook dinner when you reach the kitchen, and find the dog for one more game. When you're done, the final song carries the credits.
